Today, I’m proud to announce that Senator Scott Wiener has endorsed my campaign to become your next City College Trustee!
I look forward to partnering with Senator Wiener as a tireless advocate for housing and transportation for the City College community. He has championed affordable housing and streamlined new housing construction with SB 35, enhanced immigrant tenant rights by co-authoring AB 291 with Assemblymember David Chiu, and fought for “complete streets,” solar, and many other approaches to making San Francisco more sustainable.
As your Trustee, I will ensure Balboa Reservoir serves City College and its neighbors with thoughtful solutions that prioritize affordable housing for our teachers, staff, students, and neighbors. San Francisco is in the middle of a housing crisis, but we do not have to forsake our neighborhoods or wreak havoc on our transportation system or the environment when building more homes. The simplest way to foster small business growth and to mitigate parking and congestion issues that could arise from more housing is simply to house more teachers, staff, and students near City College and the businesses corridors they frequent.
This is why the Balboa Reservoir project is pivotal for our City College community. I’m honored to share this vision with Senator Wiener. Common sense solutions that focus on a holistic approach are needed to ensure City College continues to provide an affordable education for people of all backgrounds and all income levels. Everyone in San Francisco deserves the opportunity to build a better future for themselves and their families in the city they love.
Join me and Senator Wiener as we work to build a more sustainable future for City College of San Francisco with common sense solutions.
